Hello and a very warm welcome to the Excel Church podcast. We’re so glad you’ve joined us, and wherever you’re listening from today, we pray this message encourages you in your walk with Jesus.
In today’s message, Pastor Dek Dudfield shares a word from Galatians 2:20:
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
Speaking on a special day of baptism and celebration at Excel Church, Pastor Dek reminds us that choosing to follow Jesus and being baptised isn't the end of the journey — it's the beginning.
Through Galatians 2:20 and 2 Corinthians 5:17, we explore what it means for the old life to be crucified and for a new life in Christ to begin. And from Ephesians 2:10, we're reminded that we have been created in Christ Jesus for good works — called not simply to believe, but to grow, serve and make ourselves available for everything God has for us.
Whether you've followed Jesus for many years, have recently made that decision, or you're still exploring faith, this message asks an important question:
Who's living your life — you, or Jesus?
We pray you're encouraged and challenged as you listen to today's message, “The New Life Begins Here.”

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Excel Church podcast. We’re so glad you’ve joined us, and wherever you’re listening from today, we pray that this message encourages you, challenges you and helps you draw closer to God.
In today’s message, Will Jenkins speaks on “Don’t Let Your Reluctance Become Your Refusal,” taking us into the story of Moses and the burning bush in Exodus 3–4.
Moses questioned his identity — “Who am I?” (Exodus 3:11). He feared how others would respond — “What if they do not believe me?” (Exodus 4:1). He focused on his limitations — “I am slow of speech and tongue” (Exodus 4:10). And eventually his reluctance became refusal: “Please send someone else” (Exodus 4:13).
Yet throughout it all, God continued to remind Moses of who He was, promising, “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12) and declaring, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14).
Drawing also on John 1:12, 1 Peter 2:9, Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 2:4–5 and Acts 7:22, Will encourages us to consider the fears, doubts and perceived limitations that can hold us back from what God is asking us to do.
Sometimes reluctance is understandable — but what happens when our reluctance becomes refusal?
God is speaking. Are we listening? And are we willing to take the next step of obedience?
We pray you’re encouraged as you listen to today’s message.

The Full Measure

What does it mean to give the full measure of ourselves to others?
In this message, Pastor Dek Dudfield explores Jesus’ teaching in Luke 6:27–38 and challenges us to consider the measure of love, mercy, forgiveness and generosity we give to those around us.
Giving is about far more than money. It is about what flows from our hearts into the lives of others through our words, actions and the way we treat people, even when they have hurt us.
Drawing on the generosity of God, Dek reminds us that we have received so much through Jesus and are called to share that same grace with others. Are we giving the bare minimum, or are we allowing God’s love to overflow through our lives?
Speaker: Dek Dudfield
Key Scripture: Luke 6:27–38

Other Side

What are you relying on to give your life security, satisfaction and meaning?
In this message, Mike Wilkes takes us into the words of Jesus in Luke 6 and invites us to consider “the other side” of the way we often view life.
Our culture can tell us that having enough money, being self-sufficient, enjoying ourselves and gaining the approval of others will bring fulfilment. But Jesus challenges us to look beyond what appears successful on the surface and consider what truly lasts.
Mike explores the dangers of self-satisfaction, self-sufficiency, living purely for enjoyment and seeking the applause of others. In contrast, Jesus offers something far greater: a life of purpose, hope and dependence upon Him.
The Christian life is not simply about believing something in our heads. It is about knowing God personally and allowing that relationship to shape the way we live.
When everything else fades, God offers us a life held securely in His hands.
Speaker: Mike Wilkes
Key Scriptures: Luke 6:20–26, John 3:16–18, Ecclesiastes 2, John 17:3

What happens when you know you have got it wrong, perhaps badly? Is there really a way back to God?
In this message, Chippo takes us through the story of David in 2 Samuel and his powerful prayer of repentance in Psalm 51. We see how sin can begin with seemingly small compromises and gradually lead us further than we ever intended to go, but David’s story reminds us that failure does not have to be the end of our story.
There is a way back.
Chippo explores repentance, the consequences of sin, the danger of condemnation, and the incredible mercy, love and compassion of God. David did not excuse or justify what he had done. He acknowledged his sin, turned back to God and asked to be cleansed and restored.
No matter how badly you feel you have messed up, your failure does not have to define you. Pick up your Bible again. Pray again. Come back to fellowship. Come back to Jesus.
(Key Scriptures: Psalm 51, 2 Samuel 11–12, Romans 7–8)

In the final part of Series Three of our Healthy Church series, Pastor Mike Wilkes looks at Enemies at the Gate.
As Christians, it is important that we recognise the potential threats and challenges that can come against the health and unity of the Church. As believers, we each have a responsibility to prepare our hearts, minds and souls, to remain rooted in biblical truth, and to understand the part we play within the Body of Christ.
In this message, Pastor Mike considers how we can remain watchful, spiritually prepared and faithful in protecting the health of the Church.

Welcome to Part Three of our Healthy Church series.
Pastor Heather Dudfield leads us this morning as we look at the subject of Truth.
Increasingly, we live in a world where truth is treated as subjective, shaped by our feelings, our culture, or the latest fashion and trend. Yet we believe that for a church to be truly healthy, it must be firmly rooted in biblical truth.
Today, we explore the truth revealed to us in the Bible and consider what we, as a church, believe, hold to, and seek to live by.

Welcome to the Excel Church Podcast.
This week, we're reflecting on the powerful moments we shared at Excel Conference 2026. Conference weekends often feel like mountaintop experiences, times when God speaks deeply, restores weary hearts, ignites fresh vision, and reminds us of His presence in profound ways.
But what happens when the conference ends and everyday life begins again?
Together, we'll explore how we take those sacred moments and turn them into mission. How do we carry what God has done in us into the homes we live in, the workplaces we serve in, and the communities He's called us to reach? How do we ensure that inspiration becomes transformation, and encounter becomes obedience?
Join us as we discuss how the blessings we receive on the mountaintop were never meant to stay there. They are gifts to be stewarded for the benefit of others, so that the hope, encouragement, and love of Christ overflow from our lives into the world around us.
Thanks for joining us. Let's dive in.
